Deforum is a forward-thinking animation extension for Stable Diffusion, a generative AI model that can create images from text or other images. Deforum works with Automatic1111, a software that provides a user-friendly interface for Stable Diffusion. With Deforum, you can create stunning animations using image-2-image techniques and ControlNet, a feature that allows you to control the appearance and movement of the generated images. Deforum has gained popularity on Instagram, where many artists and creators share their animations of transforming images.
For example, you can use Deforum to make a prompt travel video, where you specify a schedule of different images to be generated at certain time intervals. This results in a mesmerizing effect of images morphing into each other. Deforum is also compatible with AnimateDiff, another animation extension that uses Frame Interpolation to smooth the transitions between frames.
Currently AnimateDiff requires the Deforum extension for the frame interpolation to work. In this guide, we will show you how to easily install Deforum for Automatic1111 and start making your own animations with Stable Diffusion.
